Geographical Distribution of Our US Collaborations and Workforce Trainees between March 2022 and March 2025

At the DOE Center for Plant and Microbial Complex Carbohydrates, we are dedicated to advancing the field of complex carbohydrate research through innovative methods and collaborative efforts. Our research on Rhamnogalacturonan I (RG-I) is paving the way to address some of the most challenging questions in carbohydrate science. By applying our cutting-edge techniques to study the structure, function, and biosynthesis of various polysaccharides and glycoproteins, we are fostering strong partnerships with researchers worldwide. These collaborations are instrumental in producing high-quality publications and driving the field forward.

Our extensive network of collaborators spans across the US, showcasing the extensive reach and impact of our research. This map highlights some of the key institutions, including universities, research institutes, and government agencies.

We invite researchers and institutions interested in collaborating with us to reach out. Together, we can achieve greater insights and breakthroughs in carbohydrate research. For collaboration inquiries, please contact Parastoo Azadi at azadi@ccrc.uga.edu.

Workforce Training and Education

The DOE is committed to training the next generation of glycoscientists, and the Complex Carbohydrate Research Center (CCRC) plays a critical role in this effort. As a state-of-the-art facility, the CCRC is home to one of the most highly concentrated groups of glycoscientists in the world. We provide comprehensive hands-on workforce training, virtual and ad hoc programs for undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral research associates, and visiting scientists. Our training covers the principles, methods, and analytical techniques essential for studying complex carbohydrates, preparing trainees for successful careers in carbohydrate research.

Our programs are designed to educate and inspire the next generation of scientists and innovators. We offer a range of educational opportunities, including workshops, seminars, and hands-on training sessions, equipping participants with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the field.

Training Opportunities:

  • Educational workshops on complex carbohydrate analysis
  • Hands-on training in principles, methods, and analytical techniques used to study complex carbohydrates
  • Seminars and lectures by leading experts in the field
  • Internship and fellowship programs for students and early-career researchers

We are committed to sharing our knowledge and expertise with the broader community through various collaboration and training opportunities. Our outreach programs foster partnerships, provide educational resources, and support the professional development of scientists and industry professionals. If you have any questions or need further information, please contact us at azadi@ccrc.uga.edu.
